22) Stories

A challenge on the Future Learn Creative Writing course was to switch on the radio and then write a short story based on the first thing you heard.

Switching on the radio, we heard a news item about a scam involving people being telephoned by bogus 'bank employees', asked to give their bank details and then having money stolen from their accounts.

Story 1.

Teatime at the Snowball's House

Brrrring, Bring.
"Gimme all your bank details, yo ho, ho" said a robber.
"Er, no" said Mr Snowball and quickly put the phone down. He walked back to the table. He was mid way back when, Brrring, Bring. Mr Snowball grumbled and turned around.
"Hello," said a strangely familiar voice,
"I'm the bank manager and something has gone wrong with your bank account. What is the number?"
"OK, 1268348699007" said Mr Snowball.
"Yo, ho, ho" said a robber.
"Oh, no" said Mr Snowball and he walked slowly back to the table.
Brrrring, Bring went the phone. Mr Snowball grumbled the Snowball's House roof off. He picked up the phone and shouted, "You are not taking anymore money".
"Er, who is this?" said the bank keeper.
"Er, Mr Snowball" said Mr Snowball.
"Er, yes, and why don't you phone the police" said the bank keeper.
"Er, I suppose I will" said Mr Snowball. He rang the police. The policeman said "We'll get your money back".

The End.
